What Does Junk Removal Take?
What Does Junk Removal Take?
Last updated: October 2026
Household items across the board. That includes furniture, appliances, mattresses, and electronics. It includes boxes of odds and ends, pianos, and the full contents of a property for a cleanout.
In short, if it's in your home and you don't want it anymore, we can probably take it. Most people are surprised by how much that covers once they start walking through the house room by room with a list. There are only a couple of exceptions. Read what won't junk removal take.
Furniture
Sofas and sectionals. Sleeper sofas. Dressers, beds, tables, and chairs. Office furniture, desks, and cubicles. If a piece won't fit through the door, we take it apart to get it out. We remove it from inside your home, so you don't need to drag anything to the curb. Our furniture removal service has the details.
Appliances
Refrigerators and freezers. Washers and dryers. Stoves and dishwashers. An appliance doesn't need to work for us to take it. Fridges and freezers just need to be emptied and drained. If a washer or a gas appliance is still hooked up, a plumber needs to disconnect it first, since we don't do plumbing work. See our appliance removal service.
Mattresses and box springs
Mattresses, box springs, and sofa beds are standard junk removal items. Read can you take mattresses, box springs, and sofa beds.
Electronics
Old TVs, computers, and printers are part of junk removal too. Read can junk removal take old TVs, computers, and printers.
Pianos
Old pianos come out with the same care as a piano move. Heavy, yes. Not a problem. Usable ones go to a local donation center. Read what happens to an old piano after you pick it up.
Boxes of odds and ends
The stuff that's been sitting in the basement or the garage for years. Old papers and toys. Kitchenware and holiday decorations. And the things nobody remembers buying, stacked in boxes that haven't been opened since the last move, or the one before that.
Full-property cleanouts
Sometimes it's not a few items. It's everything. Every room. An estate after a loss. A rental between tenants. A house being sold as-is. Full-property cleanouts are part of junk removal. Our estate cleanout service covers how that works.
Where it all goes
Usable items go to charity, and the rest goes to the junk yard, so a sturdy bookcase or a working dryer from your basement has a real chance of ending up in somebody else's home instead of on a pile. Read can usable items be donated instead of dumped.
How it's priced
Junk removal is priced per item, quoted up front so there are no surprises once the truck is loaded. Read how is junk removal priced.
Moving at the same time?
We clean up our own packing materials after we've moved you in, always. Hauling away your own unwanted items is a separate service. Read our post on moving debris and junk removal, and our guide to decluttering before a move.
