Can We Keep the Same Crew for Pack Day and Move Day?
Can We Keep the Same Crew for Pack Day and Move Day?
Last updated: October 2026
Yes. On a white glove move, the same lead and core crew work your packing day and your moving day.
That means the people who packed your home are the people who unpack it. It sounds like a small detail. It isn't.
Why the same crew matters
A white glove move doesn't end when the truck is empty. We handle every step from packing the first box to arranging the last chair, and when we leave you can start living in your new place. Every step of that depends on the step before it.
The crew that packed your kitchen knows how it was packed. They know which box holds the wine glasses and which one holds the everyday plates. They wrapped the mirror from the hallway, and they remember where it hung. When that same crew unpacks, the kitchen goes back together the way it came apart.
Hand the job to a different crew halfway through and some of that knowledge gets lost. Boxes get opened in the wrong order. Questions you already answered get asked again. With the same crew, they don't.
One lead, start to finish
The lead is the person you'll talk to most. On pack day, you walk through the home together. You point out what's fragile, what isn't going, and what matters most. On move day, it's the same person, so you don't have to explain it all again.
It also means one person who already knows that the clock in the dining room needs two people and a slow hand, and that the boxes marked for the basement can wait until last. That continuity is a big part of what makes white glove feel calm.
What happens on each day
Pack day. The crew packs the home with the materials the job needs. Every box gets labeled by room and contents. Pieces that need extra protection, like art or glass, can go into custom crates that we build ourselves.
Move day. The same crew loads, moves, and unloads. Floors and door frames get protected at both ends, and furniture comes apart and goes back together as needed.
Unpack and arrange. The same people who packed it put it away. Cabinets get filled, furniture goes where you want it, and the empty boxes leave with the crew.
Planning the days
White glove moves take more planning than a standard move, so book early. Our post on how far in advance to book a white glove move covers timing.
If your building has rules about move days and elevator windows, tell us at the estimate. Our post on white glove moves in luxury high-rises explains how we work inside them.
Is white glove right for you?
Not every move needs it. If you'd like to pack yourself or unpack on your own schedule, a standard move with our full packing service may be enough. Our guide to white glove vs. standard moving lays out the difference, and is white glove moving worth it covers the cost side.
