Yes. Rental trucks, PODS and other portable containers, and storage units. We load them and we unload them.

This is labor only. You provide the truck, the container, or the storage unit. We provide the crew. It's the middle ground between doing it all yourself and hiring a full-service move, and for a lot of people it's exactly the right fit.

When labor-only makes sense

You're driving yourself. Maybe you rented a truck for a move out of state, or you're using a portable container that gets shipped for you. The heavy lifting at each end is where you need help.

You're filling a storage unit. Loading a storage unit well is its own skill. Stack it badly and you can't reach anything until you empty it.

You want to save on the move but not on your back. Labor-only is a smaller job than a full move, and it's priced that way.

Why a good load matters

Anyone can put boxes in a truck. Loading it so nothing shifts is another thing, and the difference usually shows up two hundred miles later when the doors open and the dresser is still standing where it was strapped instead of lying on top of the boxes. A well-loaded truck or container has the heavy pieces low and toward the front, the boxes stacked tight, and nothing left loose to slide around on the highway.

That's especially true for portable containers and rental trucks that someone else drives, or that travel a long way. Once the doors close, the load has to hold on its own. What you provide, what we bring

You provide the truck, container, or storage unit. Our crew brings straps, tools, and the know-how to load it right. For the full list, see what you need to provide for a loading-only job.

We usually don't use blanket padding on loading jobs. If you'd like blankets to keep with your load, you can buy them from us.

Unloading, too

The same crew can meet you at the other end. Unloading jobs need no packing materials, since everything arrives already packed and wrapped. If your truck is coming in from another state, read can you unload a rental truck that arrives from out of state.

How it's priced

Labor-only is priced by crew size and hours, quoted upfront. Like every job, it has a 2-hour minimum. Our post on how labor-only moving help is priced covers the details.

A note on coverage

Our coverage applies to the part of the job we're doing. Once the truck or container leaves our hands, responsibility shifts to whoever has it. Read are my belongings insured when someone else drives the truck before you book.
