Do You Handle Small In-Town Moves in Clarendon Hills?
Last updated: October 2026
Yes. A few blocks counts as a real move and gets a real crew, priced for the actual work with our standard 2-hour minimum.
In a village the size of Clarendon Hills, a lot of moves never leave town. A family moves from a starter home to a bigger one across the tracks. A couple downsizes into a smaller place near the Metra. Someone moves out during a rebuild and back in when it's done. The drive might be two minutes. Maybe less. But the furniture still has to be carried, protected, loaded, and set up.
Why a short move still needs a crew
The distance is short, but the work is the same. Every dresser still comes down the stairs. Every box still goes on the truck. Every bed still gets taken apart and put back together. The drive is only a small part of any move, so a few blocks doesn't make the job much smaller, even though it can feel like it should when you can practically see the new house from the old front porch.
How it's priced
Short moves are priced for the actual work. They're hourly, like our other moves, with our standard 2-hour minimum. Moving companies in the Chicago area charge at least one hour for travel. A short drive means more of your time goes to the move itself.
