Are There Parking Issues Near the Clarendon Hills Metra?
Last updated: October 2026
Weekday mornings, commuter parking is the only squeeze. We schedule or position around it.
Clarendon Hills is a small village with a downtown near its Metra station, and living close to the train is one of the reasons people choose it. Most of the time, parking around the station is easy. Really easy. The exception is weekday mornings, when commuters fill the spots near the platform before heading downtown.
Why it matters for a move
A moving truck needs space close to your door. If the nearest open spot is down the block, the crew has to carry everything farther, and on an hourly move, a longer carry means a longer day. Near the station on a weekday morning, those close spots can be gone early.
How we work around it
Schedule around it. Starting a little later in the morning, after the commuter rush, often frees up space.
Position the truck. We look at your address and find the best spot for the truck, whether that's the street, a driveway, or an alley.
Move on a weekend. Weekend mornings near the station are usually much easier.
Driveways and alleys
These change everything.
Many Clarendon Hills homes have driveways or alley access. If yours does, tell us when you call. It can take parking off the table entirely.
Overnight parking
Daytime parking is one thing. Overnight is another. Parking on village streets is prohibited from 2 to 6 a.m. Read can a moving truck park overnight on a Clarendon Hills street.
Condos near the station
Some homes near the station are condos or townhomes with their own rules. Check with your association or building management about move hours, truck placement, and whether they need a certificate of insurance. We send COIs for free, usually the same day your building sends its requirements. Read when will I receive the COI.
Other towns with stations
Station-area moves come up all over the suburbs. In Glenview, moves near the Metra need light parking planning, nothing more. Read what about moves near the Glenview Metra stations.
