Yes. We move students to and from any college.

It doesn't matter which school, or whether you're in a dorm, a shared apartment, or your first place off campus. A student move is a small move, and small moves are everyday work for us. The same crew that moves a studio apartment in Logan Square on a Tuesday can move a dorm room on a Saturday in May, and the care that goes into one goes into the other. Every move gets the same treatment.

What a student move looks like

Most student moves are small loads. Not always, though. A bed frame, a desk, a mini fridge, and a stack of boxes. Sometimes a couch from a roommate who's moving out. The crew loads it, drives it, and unloads it at the new place.

Taking apart the bed frame and the desk and putting them back together is included in the hourly rate. Moving blankets are free during the move. Mattress bags are included.

Dorms and campus buildings

Dorms come with their own rules. Some limit move-in and move-out to set days or times. Some want proof of insurance from the moving company. If your building asks for a certificate of insurance, we send it for free, usually the same day the building sends its requirements.

Off-campus apartments

Chicago student apartments are often walk-ups. Our crews carry with lift straps and shoulder dollies, and we usually send three or more movers for those jobs. Read moving out of a third-floor walk-up for how that works.

Over the summer

After graduation

Moving away for a job or grad school? Our long-distance moving service handles the Chicago-to-anywhere move. The same truck and crew take your things from pickup to delivery, and they're never handed off to another company.

Moving near campus in Evanston

If you're moving near Northwestern, plan around late August through mid-September. That's the most concentrated moving window in the Chicago area. Our Evanston movers page has more on moving there.

Booking and cost

Roommates can share one move and split the cost, with as many stops as needed.
