Can I Book Disassembly or Reassembly Without a Full Move?

Yes. Disassembly or reassembly can be booked on its own, billed by the hour with our standard 2-hour minimum.

Sometimes you don't need movers. You just need hands and tools, and someone who has taken apart enough bed frames, cribs, and sectionals to know which bolt comes out first. Maybe you're moving yourself in a rental truck but the bed frame won't come apart. Maybe another company dropped your furniture off in pieces. Maybe you just bought a house and the previous owner left a wardrobe that has to come down before it can go anywhere.

When disassembly on its own helps

You're moving yourself. Your friends can carry boxes, but the bunk bed and the sectional need to come apart first.

You're renovating. A room needs to be emptied, and the big furniture won't fit through the door in one piece.

You're selling or donating a piece. It has to come apart before the buyer or the donation pickup can take it.

You're storing furniture. Taking pieces apart saves room in a storage unit.

When reassembly on its own helps

Someone else did the move. Your furniture arrived in pieces, and nobody put it back together.

You moved yourself. The truck is unloaded, and the bed is a stack of rails on the floor.

It came out of storage. Pieces that were taken apart for storage need to be rebuilt.

You bought new furniture. Assembly-only bookings are normal work for us too. Read can you assemble new flat-pack furniture.

How it's billed

Standalone disassembly or reassembly is billed by the hour, with our standard 2-hour minimum. Moving companies in the Chicago area charge at least one hour for travel. A couple of pieces may fit inside the minimum. A whole house of furniture will take longer.

What to tell us

The pieces. What needs to come apart or go back together.

Where they are. Which rooms, and which floor.

Your timing. When the work needs to be done, especially if a truck or a pickup is coming right after.

The more we know about the pieces before we arrive, the better we can tell you how long the job should take and whether a couple of hours will cover it or the day needs more time set aside. Photos help. So do model names.
