How Much Notice Do You Need for an Event Move?

About two weeks is best.

Event moves run on a deadline that doesn't move. A gallery opening, a restaurant food festival, a staged home going on the market. The doors open at a set time whether the furniture is there or not. Two weeks of notice gives everyone room to plan the move so it lands well before that time.

Why two weeks

An event move usually has more parts than a home move. There's the pickup, the venue, the setup, and often a teardown and return afterward. Sometimes there's storage in between. Each of those needs a time slot, and the venue usually has its own rules about when trucks can load in.

Two weeks gives us time to put the right crew on the right day and plan around the venue's schedule. It also gives you time to confirm the details with the venue and the planner.

What to have ready when you call

The more we know, the better the plan.

The dates and times. Load-in, the event itself, and load-out if we're bringing things back.

The addresses. Where things are coming from, the venue, and where they go afterward.

The item list. What's moving, how big it is, and anything fragile or valuable.

The venue's rules. Loading dock times, elevator access, and whether the venue needs a certificate of insurance. We send COIs for free, usually the same day the venue sends its requirements.

Who's directing. On event moves, the planner directs our crew, and our foreman leads the crew alongside the planner. Tell us who that person is.

If your timeline is shorter

Two weeks is the goal, not a hard rule. Sometimes a venue changes, a date moves up, or a planner inherits an event that was already half-built when they took it over, and that's exactly when a moving crew that answers the phone matters most. Event moves are hourly, like our other moves. Our pricing stays the same all year, weekends included, which matters because so many events land on a weekend. There's no deposit to book.
