Do You Move Studio Gyms and Commercial Gym Equipment?
Do You Move Studio Gyms and Commercial Gym Equipment?
Last updated: October 2026
Yes. Commercial gym equipment is part of what we move, along with home gyms.
That includes small studio gyms moving to a bigger space, a personal trainer setting up a private studio, and equipment leaving a studio or health club that's closing. Commercial machines are heavier and bigger than most home equipment, and there's usually a lot more of it. But the approach is the same.
What we move
We move it all. Treadmills and exercise bikes. Racks, benches, and cable machines. Selectorized strength machines. Home gyms and commercial gym equipment, including small studio gyms.
Disassembly and reassembly are always included in the hourly rate. Before a machine comes apart, we photograph how it's set up so the rebuild at the new space matches. Read our home gym moving guide.
Moving a studio to a new space
A studio move is a commercial move. The floor plan matters, so tell us where each machine goes at the new space and we'll place it there. A labeled floor plan saves a lot of time on the day, because the crew doesn't have to stop and ask where every piece belongs.
If either building needs a certificate of insurance, we provide it. We can name the building or the management company as additional insured too. Read do you provide COIs for commercial buildings.
When a studio or club is closing
Closing a gym is a lot to manage. The equipment might be going to a new owner, a storage unit, or a few different places at once. We can move it wherever it's going. If some pieces need to wait for a buyer, our storage solutions can hold them in the meantime.
Equipment that's done for good can go too. Our junk removal service takes it away.
Timing a studio move
A studio that's open every day can't stay closed for long, because every day the doors are shut is a day of classes and training sessions that simply don't happen for your members. Tell us your opening date at the new space when you call. We'll work backward from it. If the old space has a lease end date, tell us that too.
Under warranty?
If a commercial machine is under warranty, tell us before moving day. We'll request the manufacturer's technician. Read what if my gym equipment is under warranty.
What we need from you
An equipment list. Brand, model, and quantity for each type of machine.
Both addresses. With floors, elevators, stairs, and loading docks at each end.
Building rules. Move hours and COI requirements.
A floor plan. Where everything goes at the new space.
Pricing
Commercial moves are hourly, like our residential moves, with a 2-hour minimum. Moving companies in the Chicago area charge at least one hour for travel. Our pricing doesn't change with the season. Read how to budget for an office move in Chicago.
Studio and commercial gyms are covered by our heavy gym equipment moving service and our office and commercial moving service, both part of our moving services.
