What If My Gym Equipment Is Under Warranty?
What If My Gym Equipment Is Under Warranty?
Last updated: October 2026
If a machine is under warranty, we'll request the manufacturer's technician.
New gym equipment is a big purchase, and the warranty is part of what you paid for. Many manufacturers have rules about who can take a machine apart and put it back together. If someone else does it, the warranty can be at risk. So when a machine is still covered, we bring in the manufacturer's technician rather than guess.
Why the warranty matters on moving day
Treadmills, bikes with screens, and connected strength machines are full of electronics and motors. Those are often the parts the warranty covers, and they're also the parts that can be hard to tell apart from normal wear if something goes wrong a few weeks after the move. If a problem shows up after the move, the first question the manufacturer may ask is who took it apart.
Getting the manufacturer's technician involved keeps that question simple. Easy answer.
What to do before you book
Find your warranty paperwork. Check how long the coverage lasts and what it says about moving or disassembly.
Make a list. Note which machines are under warranty and which aren't.
Tell us when you call. We'll plan the move around the machines that need a technician.
Leave time. The technician's schedule may not match your moving date, so start early.
What about everything else?
Not every machine in your gym is under warranty, and in most home gyms the older racks, benches, and weight stacks are long past it. Equipment that isn't covered gets handled the usual way. We take it apart at your old place, move it, and put it back together at the new one. Assembly and disassembly are always included in our hourly rate. Before anything comes apart, we photograph how it's set up so the rebuild matches. Read our home gym moving guide.
Moving a single machine
Sometimes the warrantied machine is the only thing that's moving. A new treadmill going from the basement to the spare room, or a Peloton going to a new apartment. We do single-item equipment moves too. Tell us which machine it is and where it's going.
Commercial equipment
The same goes for studios and clubs. Commercial machines often carry their own warranty or service contract, and the rule is the same. If it's under warranty, tell us, and we'll request the manufacturer's technician. Read do you move studio gyms and commercial gym equipment.
Coverage during the move
Every move includes our standard coverage, which is based on weight. For high-value equipment, you can buy full coverage insurance through us or through your own insurer. Read are you licensed and insured.
