Do You Move Other Game Tables Besides Pool Tables?

Do You Move Other Game Tables Besides Pool Tables?

Last updated: October 2026

Yes. Shuffleboard, ping-pong, and poker tables all come along.

The game room rarely holds just one table. Where there's a pool table, there's often a ping-pong table folded up against the wall or a poker table in the corner. Sometimes the shuffleboard is the star of the room. We move all of them.

Each one has its own shape and its own way of coming apart, though, so here's what to expect.

Shuffleboard tables

Shuffleboard tables are long. Really long. That length is the main challenge, because the table has to turn corners and fit through doorways and down stairs. Tell us the length when you call, and tell us about the path from the room to the door. A long table in a basement with a tight turn at the bottom of the stairs is a different job from one in a garage.

Ping-pong tables

Ping-pong tables are lighter, but they're big and flat, and the surface scratches and dents easily. Many fold, which helps a lot. If yours folds, it usually moves folded. If it doesn't, it may need to come apart.

Poker tables

Poker tables are usually the easiest of the three, and they're often the last thing anyone thinks to mention when they call. Some have folding legs, and some have a removable top. The felt surface gets protected like any other finished piece of furniture.

Pool tables

The pool table is still the heaviest thing in most game rooms. It gets taken apart, and the slate travels separately. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours just for the teardown. Read how long does it take to move a pool table. After the move, leveling and re-felting need a billiards specialist.

Taking tables apart

When a game table needs to come apart to fit through a door or down the stairs, we take it apart and put it back together. Assembly and disassembly are always included in the hourly rate. Our furniture disassembly service covers how that works for pieces of every kind.

Protecting the tables and your home

Moving blankets pad your furniture for free during every move, and game tables get the same treatment. Floors, door frames, and stairs get protected too. Read how we protect floors and homes.

Moving the whole game room

If you're moving the whole basement, tell us everything that's down there. The bar stools. The sectional. The gym equipment in the corner. Our heavy gym equipment moving service handles treadmills, bikes, and home gyms, and it all goes on the same estimate.

Most game rooms are in the basement, and the stairs are what take the most care. Read can you move a pool table to a basement.

Pricing

Game table moves are hourly, with a 2-hour minimum. Moving companies in the Chicago area charge at least one hour for travel.

Game tables are part of our pool table moving service, one of our moving services.

Call (773) 275-4100 or email info@wcmoving.com, and tell us what's in the game room.

I had an excellent move out experience with Windy City movers. I had a two bedroom apartment that also had a piano, and I lived on the top third floor without an elevator.
