Do You Move on Weekends and Holidays? Yes, 7 Days a Week

Yes. We move seven days a week, weekends included, and we are open almost every holiday on the calendar. The only days our trucks sit still are the big ones, Christmas and New Year's. Apart from those, if you need to move, we are working.

Here is what that means for planning your move.

Saturdays and Sundays, every week

Weekends are the most popular time to move in Chicago, and for good reason. A Saturday or Sunday move means you do not have to burn a vacation day, and you get the rest of the weekend to unpack before the work week starts.

Our crews are out every Saturday and every Sunday, all year. Whether it is a studio apartment move in the city or a four-bedroom house move in the suburbs, you do not have to bend your work schedule or your family around moving day. We bend around yours.

Because weekends are in such high demand, they are also the first dates to fill. If you want a specific Saturday, especially near the end of the month when leases turn over, book it early.

Holidays, with two honest exceptions

We stay open through almost every holiday too. A long holiday weekend is actually a great time to move, since the extra day gives you room to settle in without rushing back to work.

We will be straight with you about the exceptions. We close for the two big ones, Christmas and New Year's. Those are the days our crews are home with their families, the same as you would want to be. Every other holiday through the year, we are available. Those dates get claimed fast, though, so confirm early if your move lands on one.

No weekend or holiday surge pricing

Here is the part a lot of movers will not tell you up front. Plenty of companies quietly charge more for a Saturday, a Sunday, or a holiday, because they know demand is high and you do not have many options.

We do not. Our rate is the same whether you move on a holiday weekend or a quiet Tuesday afternoon. We do not raise prices by the season, the day of the week, or the day of the month. The convenient date does not cost you extra, so you can pick the day that actually works for your life and budget for it with no surprises.

A tip if you live in a high-rise

Moving on a weekend or holiday sometimes means a little extra coordination with your building. Some high-rises limit which days you can move or require you to reserve the freight elevator ahead of time, and a few restrict holiday moves entirely.
