Do You Offer Refunds for Canceled Moves?
Here is the honest answer, and it is a little different from what you might expect: the refund question rarely comes up at all, because we do not take deposits or booking fees in the first place. You pay when your move is complete, not before, so if you cancel, there is no money sitting with us waiting to be returned. There is nothing to refund because nothing was paid.
No deposit means no risk
A lot of movers ask for a deposit to hold your date, which means that if your plans fall through, you are chasing down a refund and hoping it comes back quickly. We do not work that way. Booking a local move with us costs you nothing upfront. You keep your money until the day the work is actually done, which keeps you in control of your budget and takes the "will I get my deposit back?" worry off the table entirely.
In practical terms, that means you can book your date with zero financial commitment. Your card is never charged to reserve a slot, and you are never in the position of having handed over money for a service that has not happened yet. If life changes before moving day, you simply let us know. There is no balance to untangle and no waiting on a refund to clear.
What happens when you cancel
Because there is no deposit, cancelling is simple.
If you cancel at least 24 hours before your move, there is no fee, and nothing is owed in either direction. We just clear the date and offer the slot to another customer.
If you cancel within 24 hours of your move, a late-cancellation fee applies. It is worth being clear about what that is: it is a charge to cover the crew and truck we committed to your date, not a chunk withheld from some larger deposit. Since you never paid a deposit, it is a straightforward one-time fee rather than a tangled refund calculation.
The free alternative to cancelling
One thing worth knowing if your plans are just shifting rather than ending: rescheduling is always free, with no fee at any time. So if your move is not truly off, moving your date instead of cancelling costs you nothing and avoids the late fee entirely. When in doubt, reschedule.
