Where Winnetka sits
Winnetka is on the Metra Union Pacific North line, with three stations serving the village (Hubbard Woods, Winnetka, and Indian Hill). The commute to Union Station in downtown Chicago is a real option, and many Winnetka professionals use it.

Estate homes on substantial lots. Much of Winnetka's housing is single-family homes on lots that range from generous to genuinely estate-scale.
