Every home is different, so we estimate based on its size and how much there is to pack. Materials are charged separately and itemized in the quote. Like every job, packing has a 2-hour minimum, and estimates are free.

That's really the shape of it. A one-bedroom with a light kitchen and a few closets is a very different job from a four-bedroom house with a full basement, a garage, and thirty years of books. One flat price wouldn't be fair to either.

The two parts of the price

Labor. Packing is hourly, like our moves. The time depends on how much there is to pack and how much of it needs extra care.

Materials. We bring everything the pack needs. Boxes and packing paper. Tape and shrink wrap. Wardrobe boxes and dish barrels. The materials are itemized separately in your estimate.

Wardrobe boxes and TV boxes are free to use on moving day. Moving blankets to pad your furniture are always free during the move.

What affects the time

The size of the home. More rooms, more closets, more cabinets.

How full it is. Two homes with the same square footage can take very different amounts of time to pack.

The kitchen. Kitchens usually take the longest, with dishes, glasses, and small appliances that all need wrapping.

Fragile and valuable items. Art, mirrors, and heirlooms take more care. For oversized or high-value pieces, we build custom crates ourselves.

How to get an accurate estimate

We give estimates in person, online, or by phone if you prefer. The more we can see, the more accurate it is. Walk us through every room, including closets, the basement, and the garage. Don't forget the storage spaces people tend to skip.

What doesn't change

Estimates are free, and there's no deposit to book. Our pricing stays the same all year. Every move includes our standard coverage, based on weight, and you can buy full coverage insurance separately.

Is it worth it?

That depends on what your time is worth, and on how many evenings and weekends you're willing to give up to a roll of tape and a stack of flattened boxes in the weeks before the move. Most people underestimate it. Packing a whole home yourself can take weeks of evenings and weekends. Professional packing saves time, protects your things, and saves a lot of energy.
